Dog Patch is sour fermented berry, sweet, pungent, and genuinely astringent, the kind of sharpness that catches the back of your throat before the fuel lands. We call it Trash Terps. It’s not a clean profile and it isn’t trying to be.

Two sisters, back together
Chem ‘D’ x Chemdog 91 Bx2.
Both halves of this cross came out of the same thirteen seeds.
Chem D and Chem 91 are sisters from that 1991 batch, same seeds, different plants, and they went in completely different directions. Chem 91 runs skunky and lemony. Chem D goes rubbery and raunchy, more indica-leaning, thicker branching, heavier resin.
Dog Patch puts them back in a room together.
How I got both halves
The Chemdog 91 has been mine since 1995. Never left my hands.
Chem D took longer and came the long way round. In 2006 I flew to New York and traded Greg a couple of my Chemdog 91 clones for her. That’s how she came home, I gave up 91 cuts to get her.
That’s the part I can tell you first-hand, because I was the one on the plane.

How she grows
Beginner-friendly. There’s not much to get wrong here.
Branchy, with a low to medium stretch. She throws arms rather than height, which is the Chem D structure coming through. You’ll get plenty of sites without needing to chase the canopy.
Light feeder. Worth saying twice, because the common mistake with a vigorous branchy plant is assuming she’s hungry. She isn’t. Back off and she’ll reward you.
Flowering: 56 to 63 days.
Yield is above average, the branching pays off. All those arms turn into sites, and Chem D brings her resin with her.
13 regular seeds.

Trash Terps
The name is mine and it’s affectionate.
Sour fermented berry over the top of the gas. Sweet and pungent underneath, then that astringent edge that some people need a minute with. It’s the Chem D funk meeting the 91’s lemon and skunk, and what comes out the other side doesn’t smell like either parent on its own.
If you like clean, polished, dessert-shaped flavor, this isn’t your plant. If you’ve been chasing the raunchy end of the Chem family, it is.
What she does
Fuel-forward and smooth with it. The Chem 91 side keeps the high functional rather than flattening, a working smoke that stays usable through the afternoon. Chem D’s weight arrives late and settles in rather than closing things down.
What you’ll read elsewhere
Dog Patch turns up on a few strain databases, and the entries don’t always match the plant.
You’ll see the flowering time stretched out past what I get. You’ll see flavor lists, citrus, pine, earthy, that describe a different plant than the one in my room. One of the bigger listings for it carries no smell notes, no taste notes and no photos at all, because nobody’s filled them in.
I’m not going to tell you those people are wrong about their own gardens. I’m telling you what comes out of mine.
