Catahoula Seeds: Triangle Kush x Chemdog 91 Bx3

Catahoula is the easy one. Most of what comes out of Lucky Dog Seed Co is a hunting project, packs built so you can dig for a keeper. This one is not that. Large, vigorous, bulky-flowered and genuinely forgiving, Catahoula is Chem on Kush for growers who want the genetics without running a selection program to find them.

Genetics & Lineage

The mother is Triangle Kush, out of the swamps of central Florida, and she still reigns as one of the most prized elite clones in circulation. That is not nostalgia talking, she has contributed to a long list of winning hybrids over the years, and she is still being reached for by breeders who have every other option available to them. Sour, earthy, pine-forward, and unusually generous in how she passes those traits along.

The father is the Chemdog 91 Bx3, the foundational male behind the backcross project, bringing structural integrity, resin density and the industrial gas depth the Chem line is preserved for. Kush and Chem are two of the most-crossed families in modern cannabis, and most of those pairings lean one way or the other. This one holds its balance, the pine and earth of the Triangle sitting alongside the 91’s fuel rather than underneath it.

Aroma, Flavor & Terpene Profile

Sour first, then earth, then pine running underneath the whole thing. It is a clean, recognizable profile, the kind of smoke where you can name what you are tasting rather than reaching for adjectives. The Chem side thickens the back end with gas without muddying the Triangle’s clarity, which is the whole reason this pairing works.

Effects & Experience

Happy and inspirational, the Triangle’s signature, and the reason she has stayed in circulation for as long as she has. This is daytime-functional rather than flattening: a lift that leaves you capable of doing something with it. Satisfying to smoke in the plain sense, which after enough exotic crosses is worth saying out loud.

Cultivation Insights

This is the one to grow if you are new to the Chem family. Expect large, vigorous plants that stack bulky flowers without much intervention, no delicate feeding schedule, no fragile phenos to nurse, no narrow window where everything has to go right. Flowering runs 56–63 days (8–9 weeks), comfortably inside a normal cycle. Give the plants room, because vigor is the defining trait here and they will use whatever space you provide. Each pack holds 13 regular seeds, which on a line this consistent means a straightforward run rather than a hunt.
