Chemborne 13 – (Airborne g13 x Chemdog 91 bx3)

Airborne G13 is a bit mysterious. The resemblance to the Northern Lights #2 certainly stokes the memory. I had the chance to smoke the real deal G13 in the summer of 1992 in a parking lot after a Grateful Dead show in Ohio. After that very memorable session, I hitchhiked to California to continue the adventure. The Airborne G13 isn’t the same but she sure is special in her own regard. Great plant to breed with as the results can be predicted and desired. I found my keeper with relatively small numbers and it was a tough choice. Relaxing and easy on the mind this cross is unique.

Genetics and Lineage

Airborne G13 crossed to the Chemdog 91 Bx3 stud. The Airborne side carries the heavy, resinous, indica-leaning character its Northern Lights resemblance suggests, compact structure, tight internodes, a plant that finishes rather than sprawls. The Chemdog side brings the fuel and the frame.

The useful thing about this pairing, and the reason it is in the catalog, is predictability. Skunk VA’s note records finding the keeper in relatively small numbers. That is unusual and it matters: a line that expresses consistently means a pack does not have to be a numbers game.

Aroma and Flavor

Earthy and resinous ahead of anything sweet, with the Chemdog register underneath, solvent, faintly rubbery, more savoury than sharp. Closer to old-school hash and pine than to any modern dessert profile. It is a nose that reads as heavy before you have smoked any of it.

Cultivation Insights

Flowering runs 63 to 70 days. Expect a compact plant with tight internodal spacing from the Airborne side, which makes it a reasonable choice for a limited-height space, but that same density means airflow through the middle of the canopy matters more, not less, as flower fills in.

Because the line runs predictable, a full pack is a genuine hunt rather than a lottery. Run them all, keep notes, and expect several worth considering rather than one outlier in thirteen.

13 regular seeds. Not feminized, regular means males, which means you can breed with this line rather than only grow it out. That is the point of a regular pack: the keeper you find is yours to work with, and the males are half of why the pack exists.
