in limited quantity, straight from the breeder’s own garden.

Notes from Skunk VA

The East Coast Sour Diesel (ECSD) is known for it’s cerebral,
euphoric, and soaring mind effects. The flavor and aroma is the
cornerstone of contemporary cannabis. The Chemdog 91 stud added vigor and
balance to the effect. The result being a more relaxed and focused
experience, while leaving the pungent and overpowering diesel aroma and
flavor intact.

Genetics and Lineage

East Coast Sour Diesel crossed to the Chemdog 91 Bx3 stud, and this is the plant Skunk VA kept out of the hunt. The two parents are close cousins, Sour Diesel traces back to the same Chem origin, so this is less an outcross than a line bred back toward its own source. That is why the diesel survives the cross intact instead of being diluted by it.

What the Chemdog side contributes here is not flavor. It is vigor and ballast: a steadier plant, and an effect with a floor under it.

Aroma and Flavor

Pungent to the point of being difficult to contain. Straight diesel, solvent, sharp, faintly sour on the back end, with none of the sweetness modern fuel strains tend to carry. It is the ECSD profile essentially unmodified, which is the reason this phenotype was the keeper. Carbon filtration is not optional with this one.

Effects and Experience

ECSD on its own runs cerebral and soaring, sometimes further than a grower wants. Skunk VA’s own note is the accurate description: the Chemdog stud added balance, and the result is relaxed and focused rather than racy. Daytime-capable, but with enough weight that it does not leave you wired.

Cultivation Insights

Flowering runs 63 to 70 days, so budget for a longer finish than the 56-day crosses on the shelf. Do not pull it early, the diesel sharpens late, and a week of patience is the difference between good and what this cut is known for.

Expect Sour Diesel structure: tall, open, plenty of internodal space. Train it or top it before flower, otherwise the stretch goes into height rather than sites. Resin builds steadily rather than all at the end.
