The Breeder’s Cut

Raffi Dog is the phenotype Skunk VA selected and kept from the Apples
& Bananas x Chemdog 91 Bx3 line, offered as a rooted clone in limited
quantity, straight from the breeder’s own garden.

Notes from Skunk VA

I love sugary ripe bananas. Who Doesn’t? What I like better, is sugary
sweet bananas soaked in chemdog gassy, earthy fuel! This cross nailed it.
Leaving the sharp sour apple notes and savory finish. Somewhat taller,
with flowers that were so big and heavy, they were pulling the plants
down at harvest.

Genetics and Lineage

Raffi Dog is Apples & Bananas crossed to the Chemdog 91 Bx3 stud, and this is the phenotype Skunk VA pulled out and kept. Apples & Bananas is a modern dessert cultivar, sweet, fruit-forward, bred for flavor and for bag appeal. Chemdog 91 is the opposite instinct: old school, savoury, structural.

Crosses like this usually go one of two ways. Either the modern parent’s sugar gets flattened by the gas, or the gas gets buried under candy. Raffi Dog is the case where neither happened, which is the reason it was kept.

Aroma and Flavor

Ripe banana first, sugary and slightly overripe rather than green. Then sour apple through the middle, sharp enough to cut the sweetness. The finish is where the Chem parent shows up: earthy, savoury, fuel-soaked. It is a genuinely unusual profile because the sweet and the savoury arrive in sequence rather than blended.

Cultivation Insights

Somewhat taller than the rest of the breeder’s-cut shelf, and the flowers are the headline. Plants being pulled down by their own weight at harvest is not a figure of speech here, and it should change how you grow it.

Plan support from the start. Stakes, a trellis layer, or a scrog net installed before stretch finishes, not improvised in week seven when branches are already bending. Thick stems help but they will not carry it alone on a well-fed plant.

Resin is heavy and coats the sugar leaf as well as the calyx, which makes trimming slower and the trim itself worth keeping. Density plus size means airflow matters: open the middle of the plant and keep humidity moving through late flower.

What You Are Getting

A rooted clone of that exact selection. No variation, no pheno hunt, no packs that might not throw the plant you saw. The heavy-flowering phenotype described above is the plant that ships, limited by how much cutting material one mother provides.

How long does Raffi Dog flower?

Flowering time: 63 to 70 days.

Your clone is guaranteed through transit and a reasonable recovery time. If she doesn't make it, I replace her. Nothing to worry about.
