Genetics & Lineage

In the breeder’s own words: “Cannabis culture has gone through many changes in the last 20 years. It seems like you’re either on this side or the other. Never made sense to me. Some strains I’ve had only limited experience with, most I’ve had a long relationship with… That’s how I discovered how much I enjoy the White Runtz. Nice, easy, smooth and great flavor. White Runtz is about as new-school as genetics get. It is a selected phenotype of Runtz, itself a Gelato and Zkittlez cross out of a 2017 pheno hunt in California, picked because its trichome glands came in larger and more abundant than its siblings, which is where the “white” comes from. Underneath it here sits the Chemdog 91 Bx3, the foundational male of the Lucky Dog Seed Co backcross project, tracing to thirteen bag seeds from 1991. Twenty-six years of cannabis history on either side of one cross.

Aroma, Flavor & Terpene Profile

Sweet candy on the front, that is the Runtz side arriving intact, and it is the trait most likely to be flattened by a heavy Chem stud. It is not flattened. What the 91 adds is a gas floor underneath the sugar, so the sweetness has something to sit on rather than reading thin. Smooth is the word the breeder keeps returning to, and it is accurate: this is an easy smoke that does not scrape.

Effects & Experience

Easy and approachable up front, with the Chem punch showing up behind it. The Runtz family is known for a comfortable, unchallenging high; the 91 gives it teeth. If you have found modern candy strains pleasant but underpowered, this cross is the direct answer to that complaint.

Cultivation Insights

Flowering runs 63–70 days (9–10 weeks), so budget a longer finish than the 56–63 day lines in the catalog. Expect the resin production the White Runtz side is selected for, heavy trichome coverage is the defining trait of that phenotype and it comes through. Each pack holds 13 regular seeds, real numbers for hunting the balance you want between candy and gas, since that ratio is exactly what varies across this line.

Is Chewie hard to grow?

No. She is easy to grow. All of my genetics are easy to cultivate with vigorous growth.
